About the Author
Dennis Carstens is a life long resident of the Twin Cities in Minnesota, except for a four year tour in the Air Force. He grew up in St Paul and currently resides in a suburb of that city. He is a graduate of the University of Minnesota with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and earned his JD from a well respected private law school in St Paul, William Mitchell College of Law in 1984. He practiced law in the private sector doing primarily criminal defense work and family law until 2002 when he decided to give up being an active attorney and went to work with his son owning and operating a small internet company. He is the divorced father of two adult children and the proud grandfather of five.
He is a veteran of the United States Air Force having served during the Viet Nam war. He enlisted in 1971 and served as an intelligence analyst at the National Security Agency for almost four years. His duties involved working in the 24 hour a day operations center monitoring the then Soviet Union. In 1977 he received an Honorable Discharge after completing two years of inactive reserves to honorably serve his country and fulfill his six year military commitment.
